Bio
William “Bill” Godwin lives in the South Shore neighborhood. He's passionate about real estate and improving homeownership, responsible development and the quality of life on the South Side of Chicago. William is excited about the opportunity to create a useful resource for the Chicago housing market through his founding and leadership of the South Side Housing Digest.
A member of the Chicago; Illinois; and, National Association of Realtors, William is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Illinois. He is a realtor at MetroPro Realty headquartered in the Hyde Park neighborhood. William is also licensed to sell property and casualty insurance in Illinois. He is a consultant with Robinson and Associates, an agency of The Allstate Corporation based in the Hyde Park/Kenwood neighborhood.
William Godwin is a nationally recognized public speaker. He’s also a preacher, real estate consultant, community economic development advocate, and member of the Illinois Bar. A Harry S Truman Scholar (TN ’06) and New Leaders Council alum, Godwin is committed to a career in public service. He completed his undergraduate degree magna cum laude in Sociology at Georgetown University, the General Course in the Social Sciences at The London School of Economics, and earned his Juris Doctor at The University of Chicago Law School.

Chicago's South Side now boasts a state of the art velodrome facility at 8615 S. Burley Drive near the astonishing Lakeside Development on the Old U.S. Steel Site. When I stumbled upon this treasure driving down Route 41 I definitely had to find out more. The current facility and the planned permanent facility offer so much promise.
